I knew I needed to paint a new series on Edmonton’s new iconic Rogers Place. I spent many a Sunday morning taking pictures of the construction phase of the new arena. The girders and cranes spoke to me and I embraced the heightened excitement with the anticipation of what was yet to come. Seeing is believing and I could not wait to interpret this emotion and share what I was feeling. I was fascinated at how the same principles of design were exhibited in the construction as I as an artist include in my art work. I loved the challenge of creating a work of art from the powerful energy I felt from the guts and glory of this image of art and architecture.
