The Difference of a Quality Artist Website

I have been very busy enjoying The Difference of a Quality Artist Website.  My new website dianatempletonart.com was launched in May and I was so excited to sell my 1st painting “Autumn Splendor” from my website a few hours later.  Talk about results!  

Since then I have received many compliments on my website from artists, clients and new contacts.  This feedback has reinforced my belief in the Difference of a Quality Artist Website.  I am proud and excited to present my new business card featuring my website.  I have talked with many clients and customers sharing their interest in working with me.  They shared their appreciation of my story of my artistic journey plus my Galleries of paintings.  

In June I received an e mail from Timeline Paper Company from Victoria, BC announcing that my watercolour painting “Capture the City” had been juried and chosen for their Edmonton 2022 Art Calendar.  What an honour!!!  I am thrilled to have my painting featured for the month of October.  I am also honoured to be selected to share my art work with 11 other very talented Edmonton Artists

Also in June I received a call from Swish and Company for a 2 day promotion of my art in their beautiful flower shop in the Terwillegar Area of Edmonton.It was very successful and I sold several paintings plus I enjoyed sharing my art to whole new audience.  I featured my new outdoor Happy Place flower paintings for decks, patios and balconies.  They have invited me back for a Christmas Showcase in December.

In July I received a call from one of my repeat clients who had received my new website and told me how much she loved it and inviting me to showcase my art in her restaurant Cafe Blackbird for the month of July.    It was a solo art show with 20 of my Mountain Adventure Series Paintings.  I was pleased and excited when she  told me there were no business cards left so definitely great interest and exposure.

In August I submitted 5 of my smaller acrylic paintings from my Mountain Adventure Series and they are displayed at the Misercordia Hospital for 2 months.  It is a shared art show with the Society of Western Canadian Artists Society.

I am very pleased and gratified with the Difference my Quality Artist Website has made in attracting new  art  business opportunities for me.  It was a big decision to make after my losses experienced at the unfortunate timing of my art show in November of last year.   My experience of working with Lynda Baxter and Margot of Chix Design has allowed me to succeed online.  The quality of their creative design  solutions plus teaching me to define myself as an asset to the business of my art.

The best decision I have ever made.  The excitement I have experienced is also one of the biggest  Differences in the Quality of my Artist Website.

It was a big job, but I was up for the challenge!

I hired Chix Design to design and set up my website, using their 30 years of experience in the industry to help me understand more about the BUSINESS OF ART.

I am usually a very organized person but I became too busy painting to realize how disorganized my pictures had become. My idea of backup was to have several copies of the same picture. My son taught me how to organize all of my paintings and to save them on desktop. Lynda Baxter of Chix Design taught me how to transfer them all into the categories I chosen to display my paintings. All this was a HU…..GE learning curve for me which took me a great deal of time and effort.

Using my website to make life easier

When I finally transferred all of my 100 paintings into Categories on my Website I was able to add the details for each of the paintings. In this way, keeping my website up to date and keeping track of my paintings was part of the BUSINESS OF ART. It’s is a whole new dimension of my art world.

I enjoy writing so the articles were easy to write but all about me was a different story to share. I have had many customers tell me how much they enjoyed reading about my Artistic Journey.

I hope you are all enjoying my paintings and may just find that special one you want for your wall in your home or as a gift. I have prints of my Mountain High Painting on watercolour paper and they sell for $40.00 each and are presented on framing boards. I will be getting prints made up of “My Portrait of Power” Painting of our Legislative Dome.

Representation of my Art

I have other presentations of my art work in the Society of Western Canadian Artists new book “Edmonton Though the Eyes of their Artists”. The paintings were juried by 7 Gallery Owners and Art Stores and I was very fortunate to have 5 of my watercolour paintings chosen to be in the book. They are available through the Society plus Audrey’s Books, Tix on the Square, the Alberta Gallery and I have 2 left for sale.

The BUSINESS OF ART is very exciting but I am missing painting and looking forward to lifting a brush again.

MY IDEAL ARTIST MARKETING PLAN by Artist Diana Templeton

I realized recently that I needed My Ideal Artist Marketing Plan to promote and market my
Personal Gallery of Art. I have always worked in Sales and Marketing plus I was a
Special Events Coordinator for Canada for many years so I had success in planning Solo
Art Shows. I also planned group Art Shows as well. I have been very fortunate as artist to
have had this background and experience. I have also participated in many Group Art
Shows with the Society of Western Canadian Artists.

However times are changing and I must change with the times. None of us like change but
I knew that I would have to be willing to incorporate a new way to reach my loyal customers.
I have never been technically inclined but did have a website set up for me before but I was
not trained on how to use it properly. Therefore it was not of much use to me as it was never
current. We have all had to change how we do business since the Covid Virus during this
past year. It has been challenging for everyone, especially artists as ours is such a visual
product to present and sell.

I had a large Solo Art Show last November that I had booked a year ago. I had put a lot of time
and energy plus money into this show but unfortunately the timing could not of been worse.
After a lot of soul searching I came to realize the need for a new solution to promote and
market my art business. Oh No I was going to have to become technically involved in the art
of the business. I felt the Fear and Had to Do It Anyway.

I made the decision quickly that I did not want the stress of building my own website. I
did a great deal of research to find My Ideal Artist Marketing Plan and made the wise
choice of hiring Lynda Baxter of Chix Design. I had worked with Lynda with Art in Canada
before and was very impressed how she promoted their Ideal Artists Marketing Plan and how
I could benefit from their technical skills. Yippee!!! Talk about relief.

I am now very excited as I am going to not only have a great new website but I will be able to
share with all of you my local customers plus all the new prospective customers I will
have to opportunity to meet. Talk about feeling inspired.
