I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and have lived in Edmonton since 1971.

I have always been artistic and creative. These talents plus being a visual person led me into a very exciting career in fashion. I have found fashion and art very synonymous with each other and the same principles of design are exhibited in both. This has made the transfer of my skills into art a natural progression.

I have been involved in Drawing, Design and Watercolour Painting since 1991
taking various Courses and Workshops at the University of Alberta and from well known Artists in the Edmonton Area. I became a Professional Watercolour Artist in 2010 and opened my own company “My Authenticity”. In 2020 I added Acrylic Painting to my Portfolio.

Color is my motivation in everything in my life and my inspiration in painting. I feel so fortunate and privileged to have this gift and a creative way to express it.
Working with colour is a very spiritual experience for me and it allows me the freedom to find my own style and authenticity in my art.

My art work has evolved from detailed Cityscapes sharing the beauty of urban reflections in downtown Edmonton expressing the working girl in me to a much more relaxed style. This allows me to experiment in new and exciting ways of expressing myself. This new approach has lovely loose brush strokes which create a rhythm and movement plus adding texture creates more interest. Painting new Landscapes in acrylics has intensified my colour combinations. Adding to my brushes are palette knives and art spatulas. I still love my Watercolour Landscapes and now they have a new perspective with my free style of painting. I have also done more paintings on Yupo Paper.

I became President of the Society of Western Canadian Artists for 2 ½ years. I wanted to become more involved in the business of art and our art community.
I have always been a leader but this was a whole new experience. I met so many new members and great people involved in this Society and the Community that have continued to support me on my creative journey.

I have been very fortunate to have the support of many mentors who have been major influences on my artistic journey. Many fellow artists share our experiences on a daily basis. The Painterly Pals Group I organized painted weekly for 8 years and shared incredible support for each other on our art work. Also my friends and family plus my wonderful customers who collect my art work keep me inspired to keep lifting my brush.
